A Couple Thoughts From The Homework

Hey everyone, I just finished grading everything from the past two weeks of school and I wanted to give a couple of thoughts.

Everyone is doing a great job, I can tell you’ve all got the basic idea of blogging down and some of you have fancied yours up nicely!

About Points

If anyone lost any points it was 1 point here or there, nothing to worry about at all.

I should have graded three reflections – week 1: A Tuesday and Thursday post; week 2: Tuesday Reflection post and 1 book review. Thus you received at most four grades, 3 worth 1 point and one worth between 5 to 8 points. If you didn’t have something done then you missed the point/s for that assignment.

Some Advice For You

A little advice is to write shorter entries. Most of you went way over the 500 word limit for the book review, and even more of you wrote way longer than one paragraph for reflections on the class. I did not take off for going over but it means you’re doing more than we’re expecting. Now if you have that much to reflect on that’s fine, but we don’t want you to be spending more time on these aspects than need be.

Also remember that I have to read these entries so short concise entires make my life better, which can work in your favor as well! Also please make sure to use paragraphs, headings and subheadings when appropriate. That also makes it easaier for me to read and follow what you’re getting at.

Finally, a little more interaction with the books you’re reading will be awesome. What I mean is agree and disagree with the author, and apply the findings in the book to your areas of ministry, interest, and life’s story. Try to get a little creative in how you apply and approach the book.

One last thing that doesn’t make a difference in terms of your grade: when it’s appropriate add links, photos and even videos to your post. Have fun learning all the ways to interact with the web!

How will we know our grades? Will they be posted somewhere?

Hi Jon, we will bring grades printed out so you can view them, probably in another week.
